Game Installation Issues

Kala

I have two games I have installed before but uninstalled
them for whatever reason (I now know that I should have
just kept them installed.), and they are Sim City 3000
Unlimited and The Sims Deluxe Edition.

With Sim City 3000 Unlimited, I put the CD in the CD-
ROM drive, and all I get is the initial music theme for
about 5 seconds with no picture, no autoplay, no nothing,
and then after the music is done playing, nothing
happens.

Now with The Sims Deluxe Edition, I have to copy the
files to my hard drive because of no autoplay, and then I
double-click the setup.exe icon to begin the
installation. I can get it to 95%, with some
manuevering, but then I get the message to insert the
second CD, but when I do and click "OK", I get this
message, "This does not appear to be the correct CD."

I have: Windows XP Home Edition(Service Pack 1)
Intel Pentium IV Processor
Compaq

There is a lot more to my story if anyone wants to
know to try to help, but I tried to keep this as short as
possible so people won't mind reading it. If anyone has
even a remote idea, could you please reply to this
message or email me.

Hi Kala,

Instead of copying the CD to your Hard Drive, insert the CD
into the CD player, open My Computer, right click the CD and
select Browse... from the list. Then you can doubleclick on the
setup.exe file to begin the installation process. Hope this helps! :-)

P.S. Hold down the left SHIFT button while inserting the CD
to prevent the autoplay from interfering with the process.
