Game Error

A game that once worked on the computer has now chucked a fit and will not
work. It comes up with a 16 bit Windows Subsystem -
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. tried to fix but had no luck maybe you can
help.
 
Is it an old DOS game?
Some (and mostly) DOS games are not playable under Windows.
