Ok... I am a scout leader and I am in charge of BSA Popcorn. I have a
problem.. With the help of my father in Law we designed a database last year
and it worked however it was unable to complete one function I needed so
there were extra steps.

The procedures I use right now are as follows:

1. Open Data Base (nice welcome screen)
2. Click on checkout product.
3. Check out quanities to scout.
4. Scout returns with money or product (these are the steps)
a. Check in all product originally checked out
b. Enter amount of product scout sold
c. Enter same amount under _sold to get that product off the
inventory

Here is what I want to be able to do:

I want to be able to checkout the product to the scout.... check back in any
unsold product....the rest will be credited to that scout or mutiple
scouts.... all the updates the inventory...

Am I crazy...

Thanks

no, you're not. it should be do-able; exactly how depends on how your
database is set up, and possibly on whether the tables/relationships are set
up according to normalization rules. but nobody can really tell you how,
specifically, with only the minimal and general information you posted.

i don't have time to do an extended Q&A with you, Chris, but if you want to
send me a copy of your db (sans any proprietary data), i'll see if i can
come up with a workable solution and send it back so you can see how i set
it up. i'm willing to do a little voluteer work to help support the Scouts
(Boy or Girl), especially for a neighboring community (i'm in the Inland
Empire).

if you want me to look at your db, post back with your email address,
disguised to avoid getting spammed, and i'll email you.
