We have 3 physical locations:
Corp
NC
Mort

There is a server at each location and we want to set up a site for each in
ADUC. Is this as simple as going into ADSS and creating a new site and then
moving the NC and MORT servers into the new sites? Is there anything else I
need to do like creating a "Site Link" or "Subnets" or a "Licensing Server?"

Thanks for your help!

Matthew,

Two out of three is not bad.

You should create a Site in the ADSS MMC for each of the three Sites.
Naturally you already have the first one created for you. You should also
set up a Subnet for each subnet that you will have and then associate it
with the correct Site. You might then want to consider creating Site Links.

You know, for the life of me I couldn't figure out how a computer would know
which server to go to for authentification...then it dawned on me that the
subnet it is in is the server it will seek. I am consistently amazed at the
lack of information that Microsoft doesn't provide.

Here is another question: We have small sales offices scattered around the
area that have one computer in each office that is connected through a VPN
using Bright House...Is there a better or worse way to setup subnets for
those locations...taking into account that they are public subnets, very
different from our internal ip structure?

Thanks for your help!

You should probably sit down and read the resource kit or branch deployment
guide. The info you say that MS doesn't provide is pretty heavily documented.

Your subnetting strategy simply is the method to define logical network
boundaries and tie them to sites within AD. The fact that you are using public
IPs or not really doesn't play into it.
