Full-text indexing

Any idea how do I create a full-text indexing and search several documents
on a harddisk?
I mean by programming by script or other languages.
eg.
I have a word document on
c:\temp\mywork.doc
and a spreadsheet on
c:\myschedule\schedule1.xls

Since there are a number of free desktop search tools available that can do
this, are you simply wishing to practice your skills, or......?

I need to write an application using a programming language like VC# or
VB.NET to search the document like
to find out the documents which has a phrase "Microsoft".

I know there is something like Windows Indexing Services but don't know how
to use it.

Hi,

I just figured out
Computer Management ->Services and Applications -> Indexing Service
to create a catalog

However, I started that but tried to query with no result returned.

Hi,
More info in the Computer Management -> Indexing Service:

Size - 1 MB
Total Dics - 1416
Docs to Index - 0
Deferred for Indexing - 0
Word Lists - 0
Saved Indexes - 5
Status - Indexing Paused (User Active), Started

Is this Indexing working?
