Donna

Using WinXP Pro, Powerpoint XP on Toshiba laptop with screen resolution of
1260x800.

Just got a new Toshiba A75 and when opening powerpoint in the slide show
mode, the slides are not filling the entire laptop screen. There is approx 1
inch of black space on either side of the slide.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Thank you.

What is the display resolution on the new laptop? Have you gone to the Toshiba
site and applied the display driver update for your ATI Radeon 9000? While
you're there there are a lot more drivers available, all added in June '04.
Your system was probably assembled at least a year ago.

Hi Donna,

You have a "wide-screen" setting on your notebook. Mine is the same. It's
not a problem with your PC, though. Think of it as like watching a
wide-screen movie on your TV (with the black lines at the top and bottom of
the screen) If you need to display the presentation on a projector, the PC
will automatically detect it and it will display properly on the projector.
