Is there a way to make the desktop icons show their full file/folder names,
in one line?

Thanks!

YUP! Right CLICK on a clear area of your desktop, Select PROPERTIES,
then APPEARANCE, then ADVANCED.

Use the slider to go up from DESKTOP to "ICON". One of the three there
will let you change the size of the FONT, and the spacing between FONTS
, Vertically and Horizontally. Have at it. Then follow through with
the APPLY, OK, or whatever.
From experience, someimes I must "restart for the changes to take
effect! Be patient.

Thanks,

I know that works, but I was hoping for a better way than to make the fonts
smaller, my eyes aint what they used to be! :-)

Instead of adding bunches of bells & whistles in a new OS, I wish Microsoft
would spend more time fixing annoying things like this, in the OS that we
already have!

Didn't see the original post but can't you make the icons bigger. There are
loads of Accessibility options.
