FTrkf1cu.exe won't end

when logging off any user in XP home edition, i get a "program not
responding" box with the "end now" option. the problematic file or program
is located in c:\documents and settings\joe\local
settings\temp\FTrkfI1cu.exe. no matter which user/account is logging off, i
get the same "not responding" box with user joe in the problem file string.

i don't know what this file/program is or does. system won't let me delete
it.

have service pack 2 and all automatic updates are current.

any help in solving this would be GREATLY appreciated.
