FTP links don't work

When I click on FTP links they don't work. I tried disabling my firewall software as well as all other McAfee products, as well as accessing FTP sites through Dreamweaver, but no luck. I am not sure what setting in Explorer or on my Computer is preventing this. Help!
 
I have the same problem. I have been trying to download a file from an ftp
site all day. Each time it starts to load and then I get a message that
says it cannot download from the site!

Let me know if you figure it out. I need to get my antivirus program
reloaded which is on an ftp site.
