FTP assistance/advice needed.

Maxwell Smart

I have a small home network running XP. I have a router with
a firewall and connect to the net with a cable modem. Static IP
address.
My problem is I cannot seem to FTP anyone. I even tried to
set up an FTP site and FTP myself. No luck. I have the Win XP
firewall turned off. What else should I do, where else would I look
for controls to try to get this working?

Is it from you to world FTP ?
try ftp.iinet.net.au .

FTP ing to yourself its a bit tricky UNLESS you have a domain name server in
your place,
because from inside the LAN you can't resolve your own public IP.

Also enable passive FTP option from your FTP client.
