I am getting this error in the event log:
Event Source: NtFrs
Event ID: 13540
Description:
The File Replication Service cannot replicate d:\profiles because the
pathname of the customer designated staging directory:
f:\frs-staging
is not the fully qualified pathname of an existing, accessible local
directory.
I have been trying to follow the instructions on the KB article for the
error:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291823/EN-US/
Replication on this directory has not been working. On the remote
server there are a bunch of files waiting to replicate in it's staging
directory. On the local computer the staging directory reported in the
error log is invalid and does not exist.
I have changed the path on the NTFRSSubscriber AD object using ADSI edit
and I have changed the registry entry using regedt32 to change the drive
letter from f:\frs-staging (there is no drive f
to d:\frs-staging as
instructed in the KB article.
The KB article indicates that I should see a new event log entry
indicating that FRS recognized the change and it will take effect the
next time the service is started. I never get this even log entry.
I have let it sit for a day after making the change and nothing
happened. I have restarted. I have tried changing the registry and AD
entries with FRS running and while it is stopped. The sysvol directory
and the root DFS directory replicate properly. This directory is a DFS
link, I can create other DFS link directories with the same staging
directory and they work properly so permissions on the staging directory
are fine. If I restart the frs service after changing the registry
entries it will change those entries back to the invalid drive letter.
I am running Win 2000 sp4 on the server.
Any thoughts?
