FrontPage publish to IIS in Windows XP

I am trying to publish locally to IIS in a windows xp pro system.
Frontpage version is 2002. I was having some difficulty with security
so I removed IIS (using windows add/remove functions) and then
reinstalled. Now I am getting a message that I can not publish
because the server does not have front page extensions. The Front
Page extensions option in the windows features install is checked.

What do I need to do to be able to publish locally to test web sites.

Thanks ... Ron

Under IIS MMC, you have to re-install the extensions on the root or subwebs.

Thank you for the response. Coiuld you give me some guidance how these
server extensions are reinstalled. I have gone to the add/remove
section of the control panel and, under windows facilities, removed
and installed the server extensions. This does now seem to help and
there are no options to install to particular sub webs. I think that
I am definitely missing something.

Also, there are now FP extensions for 2002 available. Should these be
considered other than the 2000 extensions.

Thanks

Ron

Thanks for the link and information. I installed the FP 2002 server
extensions and can now publish to the local IIS server from FrontPage.
However, when I access the IIS option under the Control
Panel..Administrative Tools, and open the server to the default
server, there is an error icon in the shape of a stop sign. Any ideas
what causes this and is it serious. Sure looks it.

Thanks

Ron

NOt explicitly. I checked the services running and a world wide web
publishing service was already running. I stopped it and started it
again and that seems to have removed teh error. Thanks for all the
help, web servers are truly uncharted territory for me.
