To my disappointment ASP are not viewable via desktop unless I upgrade to XP
Profeesional and or use disk-based Web pages in Windows XP Home Edition. What
are and how does disk-based pages work, etc?

ASP or any server based application is not available under Windows XP Home, as there is no support
for any MS web server or the FP extensions.

A disk-based web is the Front Page web you create on your
hard disk. When developing your site in Front Page, you
may preview and test the functionality of everything
EXCEPT those things that require the site be hosted on a
server (eg, ASP).

If you do a lot of work with ASP, you might want to
consider upgrading to Windows XP Professional or
contracting for a developmental site with your host.
