I have purchased a new case for my PC and I am having difficulty getting the
front inputs for microphone and Headphoned working.

From the case I have the following named cables:-

Mic Bias
Ground
Mic In
Ground (again)
Speaker Out (R)
Return (R)
Speaker Out (L)
Return (L)

On the motherboard I have the following connections:-

Mic
Ground
Mic Power
+5va
Aud Out R
Backout R
Aud Out L
Backout L

Any advice on how they should be connected would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

My case has wires coming from the front, that I plugged into my sound card.
If you have integrated sound, that also has receps for these. Plug them in
there.

Hi Mark

Try this setup and see if the mic works right. Make sure the mic is not
muted in volume control

Here's a bit of what you said. I took the wires from the case and showed how
they relate to the mainboard connections. We have to "cobble" it together
with single wires.I don't know what board you have there but that +5va
connector might be involved with some fancy optional unit for your mb that
may just plug right in. No biggie.
From the case I have the following named cables:-
Ground (again) <--- Looks like a leftover. Don't hook up to +5va.
On the motherboard I have the following connections:-
Mic > Mic In
Ground > Ground
Mic Power > Mic Bias

Aud Out R > Speaker Out (R)
Backout R > Return (R)
Aud Out L > Speaker Out (L)
Backout L > Return (L)
