Front/back end

Greetings all. I just made front ends for the four users of my database,
with the back end being stored on a shared drive. This solved the problem of
one user occasionally being locked out when another user was in, but now it
seems that the data from one user(my boss) is not getting saved in the table
on the back end. I entered a test record on my computer then searched for it
on a third computer, and it showed up fine, but the computer my boss uses can
not find it. She has no problems with any functionality of the program in
any other sense. Should we first download the front end to our respective
computers, and then link to the table, or should we link with the table on
the shared drive and then download the front end to our computer? I am
totally stumped, does anyone have a suggestion. Thank you.

With the front end on your boss's computer, run the Linked Table Manager to
make sure she's linked with the same back end as everybody else.
Be sure to check the little box at the bottom of the dialog.

Thank you, that was so simple. I found that she had linked to the backup
copy of the database rather than the back end.

I often make a practice of ipping (that letter at the end of the alphabet
doesn't seem to work tonight) up my backups, to avoid such problems...
