From Word to eMail double the spaces between lines!

Some time I write my emails on word and then I copy them into mail
(Gmail/FireFox)
When I do the spaces between the lines double! How can I maintain the same
spaces between the lines?
 
A paragraph break in Word is interpreted as two line breaks in HTML. You can
use line breaks (Shift+Enter) instead.
