I use Outlook 2002 with Windows XP, using Word as the
email editor. Just recently, when I select "new" to
compose a new email a field called "from" has appeared
above the "to", "cc" and "subject" fields. It wasn't
there before. If I click on the "from" my address book
opens and I can select anyone in the book to go in the
field. Then, when I send the email, it is received
saying "from ****, on behalf of ****"
What has caused this to happen and how do I get rid of
it? I cannot find any help anywhere in the support files
or help files.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can turn it on/off if you wish.

This is a much larger security problem, and means that whomever set up your
Exchange server mucked about with the default permissions, probably without
understanding them. Talk to your Exchange admin and ask them to correct it.
By default, Exchange doesn't allow any mailbox access except to the mailbox
owner. You don't mention your version of Exchange, or I'd post more info...
