From database to software?

Hi all,

I have an inventory program that was obviously built in Access. I'm 100%
certain.

I'm trying to develop a similar program and wanted to find out how to go
from database to software (if that's the right word), so I don't have to have
access open to use the program.

Thanks,

Kathleen

In practical terms, you can't develop software to do the same thing
that the Access inventory program is/was doing for you. You can read
the tables with MS Query & from Excel but you'll miss out on the
relationships between tables and all of the nifty things the forms and
queries were doing.

If you know the version of Access it was written in, you can probably
pick up a used copy of MS Office Pro or just Access on ebay at low
cost. Or, if you have one of the recent versions of Access you could
try to open the program using Access and see if Access offers to
convert it to your version. That would be a winner.
