On Windows XP under the control panel, under Display, under Desktop, under
Backgrounds - labeled "Friend" is a picture of a Black Lab, we would like to
know where the picture origanted from. We have emailed microsoft and also
called and no one seems to know where that picture came from. It it the
president of Microsoft his dog? Or did someone pull it off the web. Just
very curious.

Thank you,
Lori Thibault

p.s. It is a good looking dog.

My computer doesn't show "Friend" in that list. I can tell you that
the list is created by scanning the C:\WINNT (or whatever the
directory where the OS is installed is called on your machine) and
C:\WINNT\Web]Wallpaper directories for *.bmp files. If you can find
the "friend.bmp" file (use the Find utility on the Start menu), then
right-clicking it and checking its properties might yield some
information.

Just wanted to let you know that i've also got that image on my PC so it did
come with WindowsXP.

Probably a stock shot from an image library.
