Hi

I've just done a fresh windows xp install and when it comes to boot up it
gives me a choice of two XP installations to choose from as if I have got
two versions of XP on my computer.

When I go to the second one it doesn't work. I am sure when I installed I
deleted all partitions and just let windows XP install naturally?

Any ideas how I can get rid of this choice?

P.S. I appologise in advance as this also was posted in the xp general
forum, I'm not sure which one to keep my posts in.

Go to Start/Run and type msconfig and press OK. Click the Boot.INI Tab
and then click the "Check all boot paths" Button. You may have an extra path
in that file that is showing another installation.

Hi Ronnie

I followed your advice, after reading and being guided by some of the other
experts on these newsgroups I have installed XP about 3 times and now I have
just run your "test" and it popped up a dialogue box stating that everything
appears ok :).

Thanks for the tip, its much appreciated.
