When sending a new email, as you type a name/email in the To or From field,
Outlook 2003 has a popup box that has a list of email address that match the
pattern. Where does Outlook get these email addresses and how to I manually
configure them?

Thanks

They are stored in a nk2-file. What do you want to configure about it?

Those addresses are from the autocompletion cache contained in the file
{profilename}.NK2 located in the hidden folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook.
When you resolve an address in Outlook (i.e., when it becomes underlined in
the To or Cc field), it gets added to that cache. The cache can hold up to
1000 addresses. Ordinarily, you can't manipulate those addresses, except to
delete them individually by using the arrow keys to select an entry you
don't want and pressing Delete. There is a commercial tool, however (see
http://www.dcs-imaging.com/owtlook.htm) that will allow you to manipulate
the cache.
