Frequent memory dumps

Re-installed Win2000 Pro, running sbc dsl, little hardware
installed so far, but using AOL 8.0. Getting companion.exe
error before blue screen and memory dump; sometime
WAOL.exe error and memory dump, sometimes neither and
memory dump. I understand this is a driver issue, or
virus? Had been using Symantec Internet Security for
Win2000, but not yet re-installed.

Stand-alone system is totally unstable.

What driver is called out as the offending one?
