French XP Version

i have just bought a pc from France which has the French
version of XP on it. Can i change this in set-up to
English or do i need to buy an English Version?

You have to buy (and clean-install) the English version.
 
You can keyboard in English with Control Panel, "Regional and Language
Options"

But if you want your entire XP in English you need to but XP in English
