Is it possible to have different cell widths in the first two lines of a
spreadsheet to the rest of the sheet?

TIA,

Ron.

Hi
no not possible

.... but you can merge several cells into one. P.e. you have a table in
columns A:H, and you want a centered header in row 1, some group headers in
row 2, and column headers in row 3. Select cells A1:H1, click on Merge
button (or select from menu Format.Cells.Alignement and check Merge Cells).
Enter the table header. Merge p.e. cells A2:A3, B2:B3 and C2:C3 and enter
headers for columns A:C. Merge cells D2:H2 and enter group header for
columns D:H. Enter column headers into D3:H3.

The widh of merged range is determine by summary width of columns in it.

You can refer to such merged cells in formulas, and you can have formulas in
them too, but you have to be very careful doing so - slightest
miscalculation, and you may get unexepted results when you copy formulas,
move or delete cells, etc. And you may have problems when copying ranges,
which contain merged cells.
