Freezing pane layout in Outlook

Apparently my laptop has a very sensitive touchpad which causes me to
periodically destroy the layout of the message notification page because I
inadvertently drag the column-headers off the toolbar. Is there a way to
freeze the layout until I actuially want to change the layout?
 
no. if you mean the field names in the message list, you can save the view
and restore it or reset it.
