Wow I tried almost everything possible to stop the maddening freeszing that plagued my laptop for the past 3 weeks. I kept calling support lines and no one could seem to figure out my problem. Ive come to the support sites and nothing here seemed to fix the problem. Ive used spybot... ad aware... norton antivirus...nothing worked.. until finally I downloaded registry mechanic 2.1 I believe its called.. just go to www.download.com and look for the dl there. I reccomend first dl spybot and ad aware to get rid of any possible spyware. Then last dl the registry mechanic...it will only fix and clean the first six error sections and want you to purchase the entire program to fix the last sections. Anyway it really has worked for me because somehow something corrupted my registry keys. My pc would freeze constantly... now after using the registry mechanic, I havent had any lockups... I hope this helps anyone else with this darn freezing problem and if it does keep this topic alive. And Jessy Jane is freaking gorgeous go check her out lol

johnf... you are an absolute moron with NO life.... What in the hell are you even talking about? I came on here and posted my problem with my damn laptop and its freezing problem. I am NOT the same person who posted the "email" whatever post! I was trying to help others with this post, but instead the only reply I get is one from a ignorant fool. I really believed I fixed my freezing problem because it seemed like it stopped, BUT now I still get an occasional freeze every now and then.. although if I keep the laptop unplugged and run it only on the battery it NEVER freezes and I mean NEVER ... so does anyone at all have any idea on what the problem here I am having is? I know it sounds obvious but Im not 100 percent sure what the main reason this is happening for. Any help from someone who is not a total lamer like johnf would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but you didn't come on here with a problem. "now after using the
registry mechanic, I havent had any lockups... ", according to what you
wrote, you had no problems.
Read your post again & also the tone it's written in. I'm not the lamer,
ponder over why you didn't get any replies.

All you wrote was about every program you could find & run one after the
other, instead of trying to find out what was causing the actual problem.

AdAware & Spybot are fine - if you also run an up-to-date reputable AV
program & still don't find anything wrong, then you don't just run so-called
Registry-fix software hoping they will magically cure everything & which
more than likely will do more damage. At that stage seek advice before you
proceed further.

After all your ranting, you still have the same problem - or have induced
more. QED.

You grand finale "And Jessy Jane is freaking gorgeous go check her out " did
nothing to help the credibility of you post.

Now, try reposting, keeping it nice and simple, describing exactly what
happens & perhaps someone will take it more seriously & give you some
constructive advice.

Sure, I'm quite prepared to give constructive advice if I know or think I
know the possible cause.
Such as why is it always OK with just the battery? If it ALWAYS works fine
in that state, it's odds-on there was absolutely nothing wrong with your
Laptop in the first place.
Get your Power-supply/charger checked out - or try another, it sounds as
though it either can't handle the current your laptop is asking for, or the
switching-mode circuitry is on the way out & letting hash through instead of
pure DC.

Hello;
Have you checked your power supply specifically the fan. The fan may be
slowing on line voltage causing a overheating situation. This will cause
"freezing conitions on a laptop occasionally. Check the cleanliness of all
fans and air inlets into the laptop.

johnf... Im new to these help boards and this problem Ive been having has been driving me mad. Anyway I would like to appologize to you for going off on you like I did. I just didnt like how you said I was the same post as some other guy which I am not. Anyway I would like to say that I never had this freezing problem whatsoever until one day... Ok now here are all of the facts that may hopefully fix my problem... One time I ran ad-aware and I had something that I could not seem to get rid of called "alexa" in the registry key or something of that sort. Since I could not get rid of it I tried to see what I could do about that... so I went to the site where I found ad-aware and found something that had to do with registry spyware or something .. to be honest I seriously forget what that program was called.. anyway I used that program and it brought me to something where I could see the registry key tree folders... I proceded to click on each folder ( i suppose like a dumb fool) and emptied out each folder in the tree... once I did that I restarted my laptop only to see something along the lines of "cannot find system 32 windows file" or something like that....... My only option I thought at that point was to run a full recovery... I did that. After that Ive gotten one freeze after the next... I was able to dl all windows updates... I ran spybot and ad-aware again .. scanned with 2 anti virus programs and the reason I used the registry mechanic was because I figured I messed them up with the whole tree thing I discussed earlier.. problem is the registry mechanic I used only fixed the first 6 sections of the registry keys but the freezing up problem now ONLY happens when plugged in and not when running on the battery. So now after giving out all of this information... can anyone tell me what the main problem to all of this may be? If its the ac/adapter... is there anything I can do or run to check it out to see if its ok... or perhaps is it a totally different problem.. Thanks for anyone who can help me with this in advance

It sounds like you may have a 'self-inflicted' corrupt Registry, but I'm
still puzzled why it seems to be ok when running on battery alone.

Before you take more drastic measures, do a process elimination.
Go to a Computer shop (If you don't have a mate with an identical one) and
see if you can beg, borrow or hire an AC-adaptor for a short period.

(BTW, SpyBot would have found & removed Alexa - pity you didn't have it
installed in time to use it.)
