Freezing During Setup

Hoping someone may have some thoughts.

I have a machine that is hanging during the file copy stage, so setup isn't
even getting underway. I have tried half a dozen times with the same
result. I have done a FULL scan on the drive with manufacturers diagnostics
(all clear) and even a low level format with no results.

It is an AMD 2500+ system so resonable current and the board BIOS is the
current one available from Epox. I am all out of ideas though.

Bad RAM?
 
Thank you for that.

I have also tested memory over 12 hrs and it tests fine. To be sure I have
swapped the drive and RAM and still get the hang.
