I recently upgraded from 98 to XP Home. I updated drivers as needed. Everything seemed to run OK except the PC would freeze while I was away from it, when I returned I would have to power down,ctl-alt-dlt did nothing. If it didn't freeze I would lose my internet connection, until I did a re-boot. I have a Microsoft 500 wireless router connected to this PC via ethernet cable, and a Motorola 4200 broadband modem. I then booted from my XP CD and ran the XP repair. Now it freezes all the time, while I'm using it, or away from it. I always have to do a hard re-start and it never runs scandisk. Please can anyone help me.

I'd recommend format c: and reinstall.
