XPHome+ updates, IE6+updates, Sony Vio laptop+udate drivers;
Not sure if should be in an IE ng. but....;
I dont access internet much on the laptop,but having had my desktop hd fail
I needed to go online, extensively, with IE.
The sys constantly freezes, when on line via IE, have to hard boot. I cannot
find anything in error logs.
This seems to be a recent occurance, sys is fine with apps.
I uninstalled last crit.update and reinstalled, didn't help.
Any guidence on where to start looking?
Thanks
David

If you are familiar with the process, consider testing an updated video
driver - from the chip or card manufacturer's WEBsite. If results are
poor, ROLL BACK to the original drivers. Enlist the help of someone
knowledgable, if necessary.

Afraid no updated video drivers available; drivers only available frm PC
manu.site not available frm ATI mobility.
Tested DirectX all OK
I should mention that freeze occurs when IE or OEnews open and nothing else,
also doing nothing with these apps at the time,they are just open on a page.

Believe prob. cured - apparently caused by duplicate name on network

I'd like to know what "duplicate name on network" means. I may have the same
problem. Periodic freeze-ups.
