You're not missing anything. The URL gets posted here every few weeks.
Most of the pages are titled 'Sharewaretown.com', most of the freeware
is not worth having and in some cases is not freeware anyway. Any twit
can fill a few pages with screensavers and silly games and call it a
freeware site.
The pop ups (not that I see them here) are perhaps to draw your
attention to all the ads for a crappy 20 dollar pop up stopper.
