Where is the best place to get freeware OpenOffice/MS Office book
templates?

I would like to write a book (wouldn't we all) and need a decent
Windows XP Microsoft Word book template to get my courage up.

At the moment, staring at a wholly blank unformatted page scares me too
much.

Do you know of a good book template for Microsoft Word or for
OpenOffice (I'm not sure if they use the same formats or not).

Do prospective publishers accept OpenOffice yet as an acceptable
format?

Thanks for your advice,
Pamela

Don't bother with templates yet, get on with the words. The formatting
can come later.

Most publishers have differing submissions guidelines anyway.

Pamela;

The main source OOo template source is: documentation.openoffice.org/.
As far as the rest, have you tried the newsgroup alt.union.natl-writers
or the writers' discussion forum on craigslist.org?

Thank you Yossarian for the wise advice.

The main reason, I think, I'm stumbling about for a template is that I
need it to help me get past my incessant writer's block. There is no
stronger force in nature than that which compels us to change an
existing text! :) I'm grasping for a template from which I can then
revise as I write.

For others in a similar situation - these sites seem to be the only
ones out there that contain book templates or suggestions on how to
create a book template.
