I am running xp on a computer with a Biostar M7MKA mobo. The usb stick is a
hi-speed device and I am getting the message that I have low speed usb ports.
Is this down to the drivers installed on the machine, and can they be
updated, or is it down to the mobo and I am stuck with this issue? I am
using this computer as a stand alone for the use of my daughter and is not
connected to the internet.

Go buy a USB 2.0 add-on card..
Install it.
Use it.

Cannot use hardware you currently do not have. That's all.
