Can anyone recommend a free newsreader that is easy to use and learn that
includes a spell checker? I tried Agent but can't get the spellchecker to
work.

TIA

Thanks. This one has a spellchecker so I may try it. I tried Thunderbird
but I keep getting this error:

"A news error occured: Invalid content type." Does anyone know what that
means? I can't send any messages and can't find the problem.

Again, TIA

Make sure it isn't setup to post in HTML .. it should be in plaintext by default.

Personally I really like Thunderbird .. it's my mail/new client of choice

-open XanaNews, write a post and then click on *spellcheck*

Where is 'spellcheck' located please? Is a button/drop-down list??

All right for those who know I guess?

In XanaNews, When you write a new post or reply , at left bottom of edit
window you can find a *checknow* button. mark the box to activate this
function before you send a message

Sorry I'm so dumb, but I do not see an edit window or do you mean field?
Is it contained within the 'FollowUp' window?

Now you are using *Xnews*, My statements are for *XanaNews* maybe this is
your mistake? In *Xnews* Ispell dont work!

That would be the problem! Sorry about the error. I will have to look at
Xananews.

It's possible to use aspell or ispell with Xnews by setting up a batch
file which will be called when the 'External Editor' function is
called. I don't do it, and I don't know the details exactly, but
googling news.software.readers (or asking there) should turn it up.
