Does anyone know any free hosting sites which are good, because geocities is starting to get right up my *@#&

Also can I add to this. Does anyone know a good free host that supports php and at leasy 1 databse mysql. And dont tlel my lycos.co.uk

For basic hosting web1000.com is the best.
 
There is no such thing as a 'Free Lunch' ... You really need a 'proper' Host.

As an example, take the Lite version here, as I have, and its only £10 month. :)

i have always had good luck with aol hometown, just because u get ur sight in a very popular place. Many people search for homepages through hometown. I also agree with crazyguy, geocities is a real pain.
www.hometown.aol.com (its the only good thing about aol!!!)
