I checked out the RPGs at gamehippo.com, and they are all killing games. I
want something that is not too easy, yet not impossible, and because my
young nieces and Grand-nephew use the computer when they visit, I want
non-violent games. Besides, I can't stand the type of games where you get
killed just because you turned the darned thing on!

Frozen Bubble is pretty cool. it has windows and linux ports.

i also downloaded a lot of old DOS games that are either
freeware or abandonware.
