Any recommendations for a free forum web host ?
Google brings up quite a few, but I wanted comments from people who have
actually used some of these services.

I used this host before. They have great services.

Free PhpBB hosting

Free Ipb 1.3 hosting

They are not ad free at the start but you can earn money(Fbuck$) by
posting in their support forum or you can buy them through paypal to
make your forums ad free.

They also have short urls and a whole lot more cool things.
