Free file shredding software?

Hello forum-
Do you have a favorite (free) file shredding program? I udes to use the one
included in my McAfee Privacy Service, but I doubt I will renew it.
Additionally, that shredder no longer has the option to shred unused disc
space.
Any recommendations? (Esp of those that might be able to shred unused space?)

Make that a disk "nuker", instead of "huker."

Look for Eraser. It seems to be "Open Source" and includes a disk "huker"

Spy bot search and destroy has one also and also sweeps the system for
spy/malware

Hi

Yes but the Spybot shredder uses 5 passes - Eraser can use up to 35 passes -
nukes files a lot better.

Eraser looks good! Thanks for the suggestion. I had no idea Spybot had one
- I use spybot, and I never noticed!

Hi

There's a few other options under the Tools menu in Spybot - but you have to
be careful with some of them.
