Free converter

I've been looking for a program that will convert AVI files to WMV for
Windows Movie Maker. I found this one at ZDNet:

It doesn't seem to have solved my problem, since the wmv option is
experimental. But I thought it might be useful for anyone trying to plow
through other formats. Hope it helps

WinAVI performs the function you require. The program is not freeware
but there may be a trial version.

Actually, all I needed to do was go to tools/Options/Compatibility and check
the MPEG4 box that was unchecked. Go figure.. =P
