The version 3.5 doesn't work at all on our computer which runs XP-Home/SP2.
Even the error report doesn't send the report/work correctly. The Audio
part is disabled with an "under development" error.

I would not recommend this version to anyone. I'll try an earlier version.
What a disappointment.

Afaik v3.0.116 is the last release which does *not* need the
..NET framework system from MS installed. Is that the problem?

when I go to their page and to downloads they offer me
Latest version (3.0.116)

So if you experience problems with later versions, which are still
"beta-version (only for donors*)", maybe the best you can do is
tell the author about, not us here.

I don't know. A search failed to turn it up on my PC. I downloaded v3.0.

Thanks again.

Hello,
You can't tell the author as his mailbox is overful and his mail
bounces.

as you got this test version, the download page indicates, you
must be member of the CDBurnerXP forum (see *). So I think, that
is the intended way of contacting the authors, and it seems to be
active as the last post was some hours ago.

This is a well-known problem: PBKAC.

You're way off-base here. Try maligning a pre-release product *after*
you've done due diligence as a beta tester. Or didn't you register on
the forums and pay for that privelege as the authors require?
Disappointment? Oh yea.

You lost me. I tried all the versions I could find. That was just one I
came across. I found that the second download of version 3.0.116 works, and
works well.

Hello,
You lost me. I tried all the versions I could find. That was just
one I came across. I found that the second download of version
3.0.116 works, and works well.

still the question , WHERE you did find the beta version for download,
WHY did you choose a test version first. There is a reason why it is
called alpha/beta/test version and why the 3.0 is called stable or
latest version.

I'm not connected to CDBurnerXP in an way, but this is a general
issue, and I dislike flaming a program without trying to solve such
problems first. And solving freeware problems only works together
with it's author, and alt.comp.freeware cannot do too much for you.

I must admit, there a several places to find, where download of this
test version is possible, while the programs homepage is limiting
it to specific users. But again, why not help the author first before
starting to flame here?

Thorsten
