Everytime I start my CPU it appears "error" and ask for a disk an press
enter. I do everytime and doesn't start but when I re-start de CPU. Last time
it showed tha there is "an inminent failure to the master" and that should
back up all the contents in the hard disk.
MY CPU is a Sony VAIO pentium 4, 256 mb ram, 80 g hard disk, windows XP.
What can be the error?

Hi,

Sounds like the hard drive is failing. Heed the warning and be ready to
purchase a new one. Download a drive integrity checker from the web site of
the drive manufacturer to verify that the hard drive is indeed failing.

In my experience this is one of the first symptoms of a failing hard
drive. Pressing Ctrl, Alt & Del will retry the load. Again, in my
experience, things gradually get worse.

Run chkdsk and get a tester from the manufacturer of your hard drive.
It's also worth getting something to monitor the hard drive while the
system is running. I like Active SMART.
