Frames & Shared Borders p me o (Navigation Bars)

HELP! I designed frames on my site and now I seem to not be able to put in a navigation bar, if I do, the stupid page that I elect to view overlaps my frame!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Please advise. I just want a pretty and consistent navigation bar that opens a new window in my MAIN frame. (NAV= Where I want the navigation bar to be

Exactly. Frames don't work well with Shared Borders, nor
with Nav Bars.

If you want Frames, don't use Shared Borders or Nav Bars.

If you want Shared Borders or Nav Bars, don't use Frames.

I have seen this response a number of times on this
forum : don't use navigation bars with frames sites!

I have used a "link bar with cvustom links" on exactly
the same frames setup you describe with no problems
whatsoever. You might want to look into that approach.
 
They reason nav bars (using nav view) are not recommended w/ frames is you can not target individual links for specific frames
- you can target all the "links" in a page to open in a specific frame (using base target), and that works, but is not the same as a
specific target for each link
