FP2003 with database problem

I've set up a Mickey Mouse database using FP2003, with
the aim of teaching myself how to do it. I've used the
templates provided but not had much luck. I originally
set it up using the .ASP option with sime success, but
couldn't delete records. So I tried again using the
ASP.NET option but this is even worse. I've got two
questions -
1. do I have a problem with my server, preventing me from
performing deletions, and if so, how do I ask my hosting
company to set my server up, and
2. what is wrong with the set up I have now. The URL is
http://www.cclweb.co.uk/hccdb/hcc_db_interface/Results/edi
tor/database_editor.aspx

Thanks in advance

Ray

Offhand, I would guess that the folder containing the .mdb file does not
have Modify permission for the account under which ASP.Net is working. This
permission would have to be assigned by the Network Administrator for that
server.

Thanks - but I specifically didn't put it into the
default fpdb folder that Front Page asks for, so I
thought I would have avoided that problem.

By letting FP put the database into the fpdb folder, the correct permissions would have be set as
long as you publish via FP's http mode to a server with the FP2000 / FP2002 extensions.

So I've rather shot myself in the foot I suppose. That's
what you get for being clever - especially when you're
not!
Thanks

Actually I just re-tried it with the db in the fpdb
directory, and it still does not work. I get the
message "The operation failed. If this continues, please
contact your server administrator.", whenever I try to
add or update a record.
Any further ideas?

The fpdb folder is still the correct folder to use, unless you host offer the option of storing the
database outside the root of your web.

I used the wizard for a different database, and now it
all seems to be working! I don't know what's different,
but now I can get on with developing a proper FP database.
Thanks for your help
