I have had to reinstall FP2000. Where can I find the latest update files? I
checked the MS FP site, but I could find no updates for FP2000.

But be beware NOT to install Office 2000 SP-3, especially if running on
Windows 98, as it seems to break FP 2000.

Thanks for asking.
How/What does it break in FP2000

If Office 2000 SP3 is applied to a Windows 98 PC with FP 2000 it seems to
stop FP 2000 from working with any files on a mapped drive (ie. Files on a
server). The work around is to copy the files to the local hard disk, but
that's not very convenient if more than one person might want / need to edit
the web site.

The Server files are OK, as they work with unpatched workstations.

Several people have reported the fault in this and the Public.Office.Misc
conference, but as yet there has been no suggested Fix or even a means of
removing SP3.

The following is copied from one such message, as the explanation is fairly
clear.

No longer running a W98 / FP2000 work station to test it, but have the users w/ the problems tried recreating the mapped drives
after the SP was installed and trouble shooting web folders as per

I don't think that is the problem as the mapped drives are setup as part of the
login script, and I have just un mapped and re mapped it to check that part.

I also think it is unrelated to web folders as I get an error even if I simply try
and open a single page (ie. Not a web) on the mapped drive. The message in this
instance is:
The file "file:///L:/Data/www/index.htm" is not found
although I located it by Browsing to it !

I will try the other registry suggestions when I get a chance.

Thanks (but I'm not hopefull)

Regards
William
