I have a guest book on my WEB server and when a guest tries to post a new
message he is prompted for a username and password. I have reviewed the
permissions on the WEB and the default IUSR_SERVER has write permissions as
does _Web_Anonymous user. I'm curious if someone might point me in the
right direction...

Thanks

Cliff

where is the file located that contains the user's form input?
do you have a url you could post? does the site have FrontPage extensions?

What I have done is in FP, given Everyone Browse access and that seems to
fix it. However, I did receive a message about this group having Anonymous
logons too...

with a FrontPage form you right click it, select form properties and I think
it's within the advanced segment it's like "latest results on top" or
something similar. if it's there just set it to the opposite of what it is
now. ;-)

Thanks Chris

The email address on this posting is a "black hole". I got tired of all the

FYI: However it doesn't have any impact on existing post, only those made after the change. Best to
start over with a new guest book or discussion web.

Yes, and it generated more questions...

I'm now trying to add a Power Point presentation to my WEB site. I'm
wondering if I should just dump the PPT on the site and hyperlink to it so
my users can download it or is there a smoother way to integrate Power Point
into a web?

I discovered that Thomas and thanks for the heads up. I deleted teh old
guest book and started anew. Works great with the most recent posts at the
top.

If you link to the PPT then the user must have PowerPoint or the Viewer installed, and then they
have to wait until the entire PPT has downloaded to there PC to view, just like with a PDF file.

If you save the PPT from PP as HTML, then import that into your web and link to any user should be
able to view it without having PP or the PP Viewer.

I think there's a way to output the PowerPoint in an html type way. I think
it's extension is .pps. you might want to check the PowerPoint group if
only for a search.
