Note: this is not pure freeware (nor was version 1.5). It contains a small
banner. It is thus adware and the freewarecops of this newsgroup should not
use it. They should stick with linux that is GNU.

The form filler function looks pretty good.

But using the "typewriter" feature adds a watermark, so it's a bit of a
trade-off.

Wouldn't be surprised if Adobe tries to kill this product, like they're
giving Microsoft grief about the "save to PDF" feature in Office 2007.
I suppose WordPerfect will be next.

Adobe doesn't like having its toes stepped on!

By the way, MY Foxit 2.0 Beta does NOT have a banner. Maybe they like me!

its not a banner.. its a really small button... on the top right part

I talked about the button as if its a banner, no one really sees it and no
one cares...
its just that some people here are really picky about the definition of
free, yet
according to their definition (which is wrong but anyway) foxit reader is
not free,
but at the same time the like foxit.

So they don't follow their own rules, yet they insist others to follow their
own rules.
Its kinda of an insider joke....

"Om Shanti" is a prayer for peace. You evidenly are against
peace and wish to disrupt newsgroups. You too qualify to
be a Net Terrorist. I had set follow-ups to "Poster" but you
changed that and posted your attempted personal insult in the newsgroup.
I have set follow-ups to "Poster" again; let's see if you try to
disrupt the newsgroups again.

Fwiw;

It actually gets creepy. Popping over to one of the websites of our
peaceful "Dr," (http://www.flex.com/~jai/, one can peruse an example of
him sponsoring "Om Shanti," (excerpted below).

There's much more to our dear "Dr." than simply sponsoring religious
intolerance and hatred. He sows them (viz. soc.indian.culture and his
eponymous ng: alt.fan.jai-maharaj).

The guy demonstrates a real Orwellian grasp of English...and the facts.

Om Shanti from your neighborhood "net terrorist,"

Islam imposes a threat to the whole world which is far worse than
deforestation, nuclear destruction or AIDS. It is an insidious, devilish
disease creeping into the veins of the world. Every individual must
realise the destructive and evil nature of this religion, for it eats
away at the very foundation of humanity which is an individual's ability
to think individually and act accordingly. The following articles
logically analyse different aspects of this so called religion and bring
forth the true nature of Islam.

Johnny Judas Jay "the jackass jyotishithead" Maharaj,
"Om Shanti" is a prayer for peace. You evidenly are against
peace and wish to disrupt newsgroups. You too qualify to

I have set follow-ups to "Poster" again; let's see if you try to
disrupt the newsgroups again.

The only reason you set follow-ups to "poster", Johnny boya, is because
a) you want it to seem like you had the last word and
b) you are a sneaky little bastard, and hope to capture the responder's
real e-mail address.

"Om Shanti" may be an invocation for peace, but coming from you, the
bastard who does nothing but stir up extreme religious animosity to the
point of fratricidal killings among Indians and collect funds to promote
genocide of Indian minorities, it means less than nothing. It is
hypocritical in the extreme, and I hope you choke out of existence the
next time your lying tongue utters it.

As far as personal insults go, you are the last person on the planet who
should admonish someone else for personal insults. You are a personal
insult personified, a blemish on the human race, a wart on the backside
of humanity, a cancer in the heart of America, a pustule on the image of
Hinduism and, not least of all, a thief, a scoundrel, a conman, a
blackguard and a stinking piece of jyotishit.

Now stop trying to muzzle free speech on Usenet with your sneaky tactics.

You may be a "Dr", you may not be, but you show darned little respect for
people's privacy by posting information about them, including a telephone
number! BTW: Several people here know how to run for instance a WhoIs on a
domain, I'd be careful to start something that might fire back seriously to
you!

If Graig's posts, which are fairly innocent compared to the web site
advertizements you put up here, are qualifying him - according to your post
- as "Another sympathizer of Muslim terrorists", then you show clearly that
he is right about you!

As of now you'll be joining JC in the kill file, I have nofurther interest
in your advertizements.

OK, have it your way.

My Foxit Reader 2.0 Beta doesn't have a really small button on the top
right part.

If you TRAIN Foxit Reader properly, it will not display an ad.

To disable the advertisement (I found this in the Foxit forum):

"For those who don't want to mess with the registry:
You can disable ads 4 times and then it will work.
There are 4 different ads and each has to be disabled separately."

You disable it in the View Menu. Disable, close Foxit. Repeat for a total
of four times. No more ad.

Care to elaborate, PDFrank?

Keep UNchecking "Advertisement" on the "View" menu and eventually it
will make a notation in the registry. You should not see the
advertisement after that -- unless you revive it.

Hmm, didn't notice the name resemblance; but I can assure you that I am

I truly love the notion of Foxit: a decent and wholly free PDF
reader which breaks Adobe's stanglehold. But I found it very
annoying that Foxit had associated all PDFs with itself and did so in
a way that made it hard for me to get Adobe reader to associate any
PDF.

When I needed some high-resolution rendering I had to use Adobe
Reader as Foxit was not quite as good. However I had a lot of
trouble customizing the registry to get Adobe back into a PDF's
context menu.

Believe it or not, in the end I uninstalled Foxit which is a great
application but which I found was uncontrollable. Foxit had set
something up to reverse my manual Adobe associations.

When I uninstalled Foxit it tore out all the PDF associations and
left no PDF file extenson defined at all. I wonder if this was just
my system (which has been customized to hell and back) or if it is
Foxit.

I wonder, does Foxit v2 give you an installation option to
associate/unassociate .pdfs? Or maybe a Preferences option?
