Formulas

Select the range that gets the formula.
Write the formula using the active cell in that selection
Instead of hitting enter, hit ctrl-enter to fill all the cells in that
selection.

Excel will adjust the formula for each of those cells. Just like when you
copy|paste.
 
Thanks for the help. When I tried this, it did not work for me. Rather than
calculate the formula independently for each different row, excel used the
numbers that were in the initial formula and applied them to all the rows and
colums selected... The formula is the same for all rows but because the
figures are different in each row the calculations for eary row should be
different.
 
Tools>Options>Calculation tab, check Automatic

Thank you.. I am using Microsoft Office Excel 2007.. I do not see a Tool
option. Where should I look for it?
 
Office button (top left)>Excel Options>Formulas tab, check Automatic

Thank you.. I found it and it is checked. Can you walk me through how to
write a simple formula and how to apply it to multiple rows and columns at
one time?
