How do I copy a formula from one excel file to another
without the reference to the original excel file as part
of the formula?

Thanks. But how do I copy a whole worksheet of formula's
from one excel file to another, without copying one cell
formula at a time?

Select the sheet, do edit>replace and replace the = with a=,
copy the sheet and paste it into the new wb. Reverse the replace and replace
a= with =
