Hi!

I'm using Excel 2000 in Windows XP

I have a simple data table A1:N348.

I was doing a few checks on Col B and below the table I set up a smal
enquiry table looking like this

A351:<5
A352:<6
and so on up to 9

B351 holds =COUNTIF($B$2:$B$348,A351)
similarly down to row 355.

I got my answers and thought I would also try <10 and <15.
So I put <10 in A356, pressed Enter and the formula from the cell abov
copied itself down. This repeated itself. I deleted the cells; I use
Clear All. Still it persists.

I'm not complaining, you understand: but it is (like so many things)
new one on me and I'd like to understand it (even control and use it).

Can someone enlighten me

Hi

If I understand you, try looking at Tools / Options / Edit tab. On there is
an option called 'Extend list formats and formulas'. Maybe that is to blame?

Andy.

Thanks. Yes it is checked. Don't know why, don't know when...

It's nice when it works. Any downside to keeping it checked? You di
use the word "blame"!

Hi

It depends on how you use/lay out your spreadsheet as to whether you'll even
notice!!
