formula needed.

Formula help needed for small project listed below.
Am using formula of "SUM(C5+A6-B6)" which gives me
$74.00. Have formulated rest of COL 'C' with same
but as you can see, I get Totals in COL 'C' Row 7
& 8 without input into COL 'A' or COL 'B'

Income Expense Balance
Row 5 * Starting Balance $65.00
Row 6 * $21.00 $12.00 $74.00
Row 7 * $74.00
Row 8 * $74.00

One way:

C6: =IF(COUNT(A6:B6)>0,C5+A6-B6,"")



Note that the SUM() in your formula is not needed in XL when you use the
arithmetic operators.
