Formula Bar - Need help

In my previous copy of Excel, when I typed in an equation in the Formula Bar, it would give me a little message window that showed where I was in a particular equation. Now that I have a another copy, I don't know what the "on" switch is for this function.

Please help, it's driving me crazy when I create very long equations.

it was introduced with excel 2002, you turn it on/off under
tools>options>general>function tooltips
